Philco 46-1201 "Bing Crosby" set
11/23/2005 10:34:13 PMDave Froehlich
Hello All,
When I took a look at the service data in volume 15 of Riders, I noticed that the set I have in front of me is different from the one in the book. Does anyone have the schematic for the "other" Philco 46-1201 chassis?
There seem to be some problems with the way the filter capacitors are connected. There is a positive lead from one connecting to the negative of another. Also, the negative from the other two does not directly connect to the chassis. It connected through a resistor. Two seem correct, one seems wrong.

Please help if you can. I wont turn it on until I know that the filter capacitors are connected correctly. I don't have a spare 35Z5 lying around.

Thanks,

Dave...

Hello Again,
I just found the "other" schematic here:

http://www.hupse.nl/radio/frameset.htm?philco_1201.htm&ContentFrame

The one I have is the code 121. Code 122 is in Riders.
I have a 50X6 and a 35L6 (someone replaced it with a 50L6). Problem solved.

I hope that this helps.
