Started in 1922 by Austin A. Howard in Chicago. He lost control of the company in the early 1930s, at which point Alan's story ends. It seems that the Howard name continued on into the late 1940s.
::I am looking for any info on this radio. Also where can I find info on Howard Radio Co.?
:Thanks

This is only the 2nd old radio we have bought (in 2 weeks) so our knowledge is on the shallow side.

I've recently been given a Howard Radio 472C from an estate sale. I've replaced the electrolytic and paper caps, but ended up with several extra/different caps left over, but were displayed on the schematic. I became dumbfounded when I looked at the sticker on the back of the chassis (displaying 8 tubes) and did an actual tube count (9 tubes). There appears to be a "mystery version" of the 472C that doesn't match up with the schematic that Riders supplies. My version has an "extra" 6AT6 tube. The version I have is a mini floor console with AM-FM. I would love to find a Sam's schematic to see if it includes the version I have.
