#45 Vacuum tube

Hi,

Can anyone tell my if there is a newer replacement for the old #45 tube that is not so expensive? The radio I need it for, I plan to keep, so I'm not intent on keeping it so close to being all original.

Also can tubes actually be repaired professionally. Sorry if thats a dumb question. I'm new at this.

Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg

Check out Bill Turners substitutes.

Tubes can't really be repaired but there are some things to check. Resolder pins. Low emission should still work in a radio. Is the filament open?
