Have replaced batteries ect. Have tested power from battery pack to lead in`s. Have checked the obvious like broken wires ect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Sony portables have a bad habit sometimes of the DC input/headphone jacks becoming internally defective, or, the pins breaking loose from the board. You should make sure (by soldering them) that the pins on the DC jack are solid. As I remember, this radio also uses spring loaded connections for at least one of the battery connections. Make sure they are seated properly.
