My current restore project is an Arvin 540T, metal midget, green with light-brown knobs. The tuner knob has raised numbers. Does anyone know if the raised numbers were originally painted? If so, what color? Also, there appears to be a dot above the dial as a station indicator. Was it ever painted? I am trying to get the radio as close to original as possible.
Thanks.

Sorry. I don't have the answer to your question. However, I do have a question for you... Do you have any information about the Arvin company? I have an Arvin phonograph model 77P18 and an Arvin radio that has no tag or model number on it. I'm interested in learning more about the company and collecting old radios, etc. Thank you for your assistance!

I have an Arvin 540T that my dad purchased for me used in about 1953. It is all original. It is yellow in color with tan knobs. The tuning knob has raised letters that are not painted. The dot above the tuning knob is painted red, very tiny.
