If the electrolytics are from 14 years ago, they have not likely dried up yet, though they could have. By this time, most manufacturers had come up with fabulous ways of sealing their electrolytics. Usually they no longer resort to natural rubber, which deteriorates and allows the electrolytic fluid to leak out. Each electrolytic, if over 4 MFD, should cause your ohm meter to swing all the way to zero ohms and then back down to infinity, when the meter is set to its most sensitive (X 10,000) setting. Unfortunately for you, however, speaker manufacturers sometimes use unmarked electrolytics, which makes it difficult to tell what value the electrolytics should be. Remember to disconnect one lead of each electrolytic you test.
