B & K Tube tester problems

Hi: I have a B & K Tube Tester, Model 650 and it has two parts: One part is the B & K Model 650 and the other part is a B & K Model 610. I have the schematic for the 650, but can find no information on the 610. The tube chart shows tubes that are to be tested on the 610 side and all the settings for the tube, but I can't get a reading on the meter. There is an adapter plug that goes in one socket, but I find no information on this connection. The tube chart doesn't say what socket to use to test a tube. Some sockets have tube types printed beside the sockets, but not all tubes are shown. I have no idea which socket to use without that information. Does anyone know how to use this tube tester or where I can get that information?

Dick,

AG Tannenbaum has some manuals on the 610/650. Web address is http://www.agtannenbaum.com/

I don't know anything about a 650 but my B&K 700 has a "test circuit transfer" button that switches the tests from one set of sockets on the upper side to another set on the lower side.

Good luck,
Jeff

Jeff: Thanks for the info. I have a B & K 700 also and haven't been able to get it to work. I have the manual, but didn't see anything about switching over. Will take another look. I'd love to be able to make it work.

The B&K 700 is a nice piece of equipment. The top button in the row of buttons on the right side is the test transfer switch. There are two small pilot lights on the right side; when the test transfer switch is up, the top one will be on (for testing in the upper sockets); when the switch is pushed down, the bottom one will come on (testing in the bottom sockets). There is a fuse in the set on the left hand side of the panel; if it's out the set won't work. If your set isn't working, that may be why.

Regards,
Jeff
