1951 Stromberg-Carlson 1608-PFM "Woodstock"

I have a 1951 Stromberg-Carlson 1608-PFM "Woodstock" that I just don't have room for. The two options I see are: Find a new home for it or gut the cabinet for a dining room side board/cabinet. I would rather find a nice home for this beautiful mahogony radio/phonograph, but I have no Idea how to go about it. Any sugestions? Feel free to email me at dusty.payne@juno.com.

The radio realy has little value from an antique standpoint, it realy isn't old enough. It may have value to your grand kids generation.

It is unfortunate that this radio does not have FM, as Stromberg Carlson consols usually have amazing sound, especially for this period. I've seen several Stromberg Carlson sets from the early 1940s with FM that will either hurt your ears if loud (and shake the windows) or give you sweet mellow music if played at normal volumes. Impressive. Most consols of the 1950s are even more impressive in the sound department--not necessarily in the looks department. Still, even though this set only has AM, its higher quality audio amplifier may still yield fine results.

Try your luck on eBay if nowhere else works, though usually consols don't sell well on eBay, as they must either be shipped or picked up locally. Shipping is not a good option.

Also, the number listed here on Nostalgia Air is only 1608. Does the 1608-PFM have FM?
