My Emerson R167 has an open oscillator coil winding. Anybody know where I can get another one or get this one repaired?

Hi John

Look through this list from PTOP:

If your radio is only broadcast band AES, www.tubesandmore.com sells universal oscillator coils.

Thanks, I was able to find the break and solder it back together. The radio now works. I would like to find a good one and this radio does have short wave also.

A good what? I do not recommend replacing the oscillator coil if you have been able to repair the old one. Does the radio function properly? Until all circuitry has been aligned, I do not recommend further work on the coil. If stations are not where they should be, or performance is weak, I recommend replacing all leaky condensers (even if the leakage is in the millions of ohms) and having the radio aligned. Possible replacement of weak tubes may help, too. Many recommend replacing all condensers, as they tend to fail, one by one, with time. At very least, however, replace leaky ones.

Unless you rewound the coil, it should be operating fine. A small repair with a blob of solder will not affect performance at all, unless the solder has somehow been carelessly applied so that it shorts out adjacent turns of wire.
