Hi,

I have an unbuilt kit from the 1950s. The kit is made by Philmore. It is
a 5 tube AC-DC single band model number 100-1 Radio kit. It is made in
the USA. But I have not instructions or schematic.

Please, let me if you could help me.

Thanks in advance,

Santi

If the tube complement is: 50C5 (or 50B5), 12BE6, 35W4, 12BA6, 12AV6 (or 12AT6); the radio you have is what is called an "AA5", or "All American 5".

If your intuition is fair to good, you should be able to construct the radio with just about any "AA5" circuit. There were a few variations, but with one scematic, you could service just about any one of them. Your biggest differences will be in values of the bypass capacitors (when they differ from one make to another), as well as their connection locations.

If you are looking to build it to as true of the original kit instructions, you might find a copy of that available from A.G.Tannenbaum.

The only things that are super critical are the heater connection leads need for being wrapped around each other, getting the antenna coil leads in correct polarity (in some cases it may not make a difference, but I have two radios that are very particular in that respect.), and getting the 12AV6 (or AT6) in the right spot in the heater string to minimize noise.

Now there is a very small possibility that the Philmore company is the same as the Philmore-Datak corp.

One way to find out would be to contact one of their people:
lkgindustries@compuserve.com

Other than following these leads to find an actual instruction sheet, you would need to post to OLRT, or Phil's Old Radios, but the response may or ay not occur, leaving the above scenario.
