I know this is a long shot, but I never know till I try. Anyone out there have or know someone who has a Zenith 12" speaker part number 49-187 that has a 275ohm field coil?
By the way... I truly do appreciate all the comments that everyone gave me about rewinding a field coil. I will definetly keep those in mind if I cannot find the original speaker.
Any comments are welcome!!
If you don't find the right speaker a 12" PM type can be used. Replace the field with a wire wound resistor. Electrolytic filter cap values may need to be increased to eliminate hum.

It might help if you could furnish a model number of the set the speaker is a part of. I have several old zenith speakers. I have a 12 inch zenith that came out of a zenith radio record player console. I checked the number on it and it is 49CR579. A quick ohm check of the coil was 300+.There is also the number S13255 on the back of the speaker.
