I am sending you information from Rider Manual #12 on your Truetone D1003. It was built in 1940 by Western Auto in Kansas City, Missouri.

: I have been directed to this site by a very helpful person, Les Wylie.
: This site looks really great and I take the opportunity to ask for help.
: I just acquired a TRUETONE D1003 and I am desperate to find more about it,
: especially schematics and manual, but also old adds,.....
: The radio works well (had tubes replaced) and its special features are:
: - a row of 6 push-buttons apparently to preset stations,
: (I do not know how to operate them)
: - 4 knobs to control:
: on-off-volume, tone, band selection, and tuning
: - a 'phono' connection on the chassis
: - a 'Truetone stratoscope' spiral winding for the aerial.
: Thanks a lot in advance to anyone who can help,
: Happy New Year, New Century and New Millenium,
: Success to all in your Antique Treasures hunts
