Philco 38-7 Console
12/26/1999 11:30:14 AMJohn Hudson
Hi,
We have acquired a Philco Console. It appears to be in good
shape. It lights up when turned on. (I just read that I should replace
the Caps before doing that!). Suggestions about where to obtain parts, help with
restoration of this fine old machine would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi John

I'll send you the schematic by email. It's important to replace electrolytic filter caps, items #11, 11A and 45 on the schematic. These will go bad over time and can damage other components in your radio.

You can get parts from Antique Electronic Supply, tubesandmore.com . They will have just about anything you might need. Check antiqueradios.com/resources for other companies with parts.

Post your questions here. It shouldn't be too hard to repair the radio as long as you can use a meter.
