Hi, I have an AK46 that I am restoring and I need to make some kind of temporary speaker for it untill I find the correct one, any ideas on how to temporarily construct one? And was the F4 speaker the one that came with the radio? Thanks

Hi Kris

You can use a modern low inpedance speaker, 4 or 8 ohms. AK 46 has a built in output transformer.

Also needed is a resistor to replace the original field. Use a 1000-1500 ohm 10 watt wire wound resistor or something close.

You can find service data for your radio here:

F4 speaker will work with this radio. Important to get one with the 4 pin plug. Spacing on this plug is closer than a standard tube base. If you don't have the plug use pins taken from a tube base.
