I think there is a big vacuum of info about who actually made what rebranded sets, even those listed in the various antique radio guides. Yours is even more mysterious because the brand itself seems to be unlisted in the guides I have.
You might try taking it around at a radio club's swap show. Maybe somebody will be able to say, for example, that set was built by Wells-Gardner, or whomever.
I never cease to be amazed at the number of actual radio manufacturers, much less the rebranders. In the 1930s-40s era, it must have seemed that the future and the big money was in radios.
