I just bought a Silvertone model 1965 that I would like to repair. My knowledge of electronics, however, is limited to V=IR and generally how to not get electrocuted. Does anyone have any suggestions on books that could teach me how to repair the electronics of antique radios? Also, could anyone give me a ballpark figure for how much the radio in working order is worth? Thanks for your help.

Kevin - an excellent book is 'Elements of Radio Servicing', by Marcus and levy. It's published by McGraw Hill, but may be out of print. Last printing I know of is 1967. It covers superhet sets, not older TRF curcuits. However, Marcus wrote an older version of the book about 20 yrs earlier - it is also good, if you can find it.
good luck !

Kevin - contact Clayton Vedder (518 678 2071). He has a copy of the 2nd ed. of 'Elements of radio servicing' (published 1955) for $15.
good luck - Jim
