1940 Emerson Model 344
3/6/2005 8:43:36 AMChris Burt
I may have identified my radio. Anyone have any information on the 1940 Emerson model 344? I did a search at samswebsite and did not come up with anything. I found a single reference on the Radio Attic Archives page.

What is the tube line-up, bands used, controls used, speaker size used, how many pilot lamps, etc.?

Oh...never mind...yours is the radio listed below. Still, the tubes used would help so that a proper schematic could be pulled.

I will post a new topic to bring this to the top and give a lineup of the tubes used.

Simply replying to the topic you have already started will bring it to the top of the page. It does not matter how old the topic is, either. You may reply to someone's topic from three years ago. It will come up at the top of this month's forum. Furthermore, by continuing this topic, you will keep everything together. Others that wish to assist you will have the complete story in front of them to go by.

Well the radio is still working. I finally got around to taking it apart and getting the tube line-up.

Does anyone know what schematic and alignment procedure could be used?

I used to have a radio with that tube line-up. Pretty standard chassis they used? Electro-dynamic speaker? Chassis is wired directly to one side of the line cord?

One line goes to the volume knob, the other line goes to the tube.

Well, when I say that the line cord goes directly to the chassis, I really mean through the switch and then to the chassis. The item on the back of the volume control is the switch. The low end of the volume control may also be connected at this point.
