Question for Norm Leal?

By the way thanks again for your help on the Atwater Kent 55C, this is probably a stupid question but what does TRF stand for, you metioned this is the type of chassis I have with the 55C.

TRF = Tuned Radio Frequency. It was the hot circuit before the superhet. A lot of companies continued to make it after the superhet was developed because RCA held the superhet patents and these other companies didn't want to pay licensing fees. Eventually, they got into line because the superhet was such a superior circuit.
