Zenith robot dial question
12/16/1999 4:26:41 PMJustin Shetler
I have the famous "robot dial" in my Zenith 9S-262. I have heard that the outer ring of numerals is a key to shortwave station broadcast times. They are scaled from 0-60. Is this the case, if so how does it work? If not, anyone know the purpose.

Once you find a shortwave station write down the number. You should be able to go back and tune it in again. Most radios do not have that degree of fine tuning.

Hi Justin - I have one of these sets, too - it was my grandfathers.
What I have been told is that the numbers are simply
an index to make it easy to find a station again. the
numbers are set up in clock format so all you have to
remember is the 'time' based on the position of the
two dial pointers.
