hi i was going to get one of these tubes for a series filament set so i could eliminate the ruined line cord res. as it also had the .3 amp filament however no one had one of these so i went with the unpolerized cap. idea which worked fine but i was wondering did they only make a few of these tubes?someone said a 50ax6 would work as well but these seem to be just as scarce the guy i talked to at radio daze said he's never seen either one if anyone has one it must be like having a zenith strat. butch

Considering that it was primarily used as a voltage doubler, there are not too many applications that required it other than industry. Also, considering that it was rated at a mximum of 125ma, it was not exactly versatile.

yes i see it is not a heavy duty tube but still it would have been better than the 12z3 it was replacing and if you needed more plate current you could have tied both plates together as it wasn't being used as a v. doubler in this set. oh well another idea down the drain the tube is not available anywhere. butch
