1957 Chevrolet Truck Radio Needed!
2/10/2005 7:10:07 PMBob WB5YYX
I have just purchased a 1957 Chevrolet long bed truck for my antique radio business and personal use. Unfortunately the owner previous to the seller I bought it from remove it and replaced it with more modern day system which has also been removed. As time and money permits I will be restoring it to original stock condition. I am looking for an original radio for this truck or something of the same vintage. I am also going to post a duplicate of this message on the Antique Wireless Association message board. I will also be looking locally as well.

Thanks!

***********eBay***************** There are radios on there all the time for my 1951 Chevrolet passenger car as well as the pick-up for 1951. I'm pretty sure that there'll be plenty of 1957 truck radios on there as well. Check often (3 times a week or so).

Thomas-

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes I am on E-Bay as a buyer almost all the time anyway. It does not hurt to continously check their listings. I have already had an e-mail reply as well.

Keep in mind, too, that not everyone knows what your radio is for or from, so you may have to try such general phrases as "Chevrolet radio," or "Chevrolet truck radio," which will unfortunately pull up a LOT of listings that you will have to search through, but if you have the time you can give it a try. Some, who don't know quite what they are listing, will list it simply as "old car radio." This can be a help, too, because if someone doesn't list the radio as a 1957 Chevrolet truck radio, but as something too general, not many people looking for 1957 Chevrolet truck radios will find this listing. If you find it, you are more likely to be able to bid on it for a lower price.
