The numbers that you refer to are just reference numbers to the part numbers.
The output is a 42, the rectifier is an 80, (40 is actually a voltage amplifier triode), the sockets should be marked, and based on what I see, you should have 2 type 58's and 1 type 57 for the remainder of the tube complement. The 57 being the "37" and the 58 being the "38".
Your chassis is correct, the schematic was just drawn strange.
:HELP! I have a Crosley model 167 that I am trying to restore, but the chassis inside the case doesn't match the schematic for a 167. Can anyone help me identify the correct model for this chassis? The 167 scematic says that the chassis should have tube sockets numbered 37, 38, 38 & 57. The chassis that I have has tube sockets numbered 42, 57, 58, 58 & 80. 5 tubes, NOT 4! I can provide pictures if it will help. Thanks in advance to ANYONE who can help.
Thanks. I completely missed that. I had completely redrawn the schematic, replacing ref. #s with real values (to try to get it to make sense) & got those wrong + I didn't see the 80 socket drawn next to the transformer. I am having real trouble with this since it appears that someone made repairs to the unit in the 50s & now NONE of the capacitors that I can read match any of the values in the schematic. I will try to trace it out again. Thanks again for pointing out my oversite.
:Hi,
