Laura-

I went to a Howard W, Sam's Photofact website (http://www.samswebsite.com/). The Sam's Photofact folder is 310 and section 10. Instead of purchasing it there for $20.00 plus S & H perhaps someone else here has a copy and will respond. Get the original Sear's part numbers for both items in the Photofact for a reference.

Laura-

The whole idea in parts research is to get the original manufacurer's part number for cross referencing and a description. This way you are covered if there is no direct cross reference. In your case however I am sure you want it to look as original as you can make it. I was in the retail electronic parts business for 20 years. Things like knobs and other such parts are normally OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, etc. are just general replacements. Manufacturers today perhaps produce OEM parts for 5-7 years if you are lucky. They really want you to do a new purchase. That's where they make the most cash flow and profit in one lump sum. Parts inventory is more expensive for them.

Hi,
If you have jpegs of what the knob should look like, I might be able to help, as most of the consoles that new just become so many parts in my hands, becasue the market is so terribly soft for them with only a few exceptions.

If you can pull the turntable platter up, there will likely be a name like "VM" and some other numbers, if there is no name elsewhere on the turntable mechanism. There might be a paper tag attached to the bottom side of the turntable itself too. Short of that, a picture of the turntable where the edges of the mechanism fill the frame, along with the same size image without the turntable platter in place. I might have something there too.

If you do send jpegs, try to scale them down in file size so they do not take forever to download.

Normally I do not post my email, because of web spiders and the spam they create, just change the "AT" and "DOT" to the actual characters. Otherwise if you have a webpage where you might be able to post those picture is also another solution too.

Laura you need to look for a chassis number. A model number by Sears could be used again. The number 3070 x-ref to SAMS Set 310 Folder 12, not 10. Sams 310-10 is for a Magnavox TV. However, Folder 12 is for a 1956 Sears reel-to-reel tape recorder. The chassis number should be in a very visible place unless removed.
