Has anyone got the:

1: schematic
2: Year of manufacture
3: Low level hum- any experience of what may cause, I suspect a power capacitor
4: It has a missing magic eye - what type is it and where does the wiring go ?

Location: Auckland, New Zealand ( 240v 50 Hz)

Hi Paul

It good to have you back. It's been a long time since your Australian radio forum.

I will send you the Fada 380 schematic. This version was used in the US and doesn't have the 240 volt 50 cycle option. I believe the rest of the circuit is the same.

The schematic is in Rider Vol #9 which makes the year around 1938.

Hum is usually bad filter caps. Be sure the old ones are removed when you solder in new filters.

The radio used the 6G5 eye tube. Except for the shape it's the same as 6U5. The 6E5 would also work but it's more sensitive and may close all the way.
