Have you tried looking for a 50AX6G or 50AX6GT?
These should be acceptable subs.

:hi does anyone know why i can;t find one of these anywhere? i was going to use it as a half wave rectifier in a series string to get the filament v. up to where i wouldn't have to have a line cord res.a 50 ax6 might work as well but i can't find one of these either. oh well another idea out the window. butch
hi and thanks for replying i have emailed both aes and radio daze neither has either one of these tubes and the guy at radio daze says they've never had them. i like norms idea i was thinking of that myself but i already gave up and used a 6.8 cap. which worked fine i'll try changing all the tubes next time thanks again :butch
You could call AES @ 480-820-5411 but it's not in their catalog.
If you don't find a 50Z6 changing all tubes in your radio to 150 ma filaments will also work. Use 50Y6, 35L6, & 12 volt tubes instead of 6 volt.
