Is it ok to replace a .00047 cap with .0005? Samei with a .0022 with a .002?

It is ok to replace a .00047 mfd with a .0005. On the .0022, you might be able to use a .002 in a pinch, but it is best to use a replacement cap that is equal to or greater that the original. You could wire two .002 caps in parralel and that would do the job

Sometimes in television oscillator circuits these values are very critical. In radio, they are not usually. Certain televisions use special compensating condensers in the horizontal oscillator circuits. One of mine uses this special temperature compensating unit of .015 MFD. The schematic says that replacing this unit with an ordinary .01 MFD condenser will necessatate readjustment of the horizontal hold control repeatedly as the set warms up.

In RF and audio work, with passing signals from one stage to the next, slight variations in capacitance is not very critical. Slight variations in certain tuned circuits (tank circuits and such) can be very critical, especially at high frequencies.

Don't know if I should have written that....because usually these things are not that critical, but I wanted to point out that in rare cases, they are.
