My radio has been sitting unused for some time. Trying to turn it on now---2 tubes light--but no sound at all.
Any ideas????

I do not have any schematic, but in my opinion the problem is from the power supply, probably no B+, give the numbers of the tubes. and I can found more information for you.

Thank you for the reply Jorge. Which tubes are you speaking about? I have a box filled with radio tubes so there is a chance I may have replacements. When I turn it on---Several tubes are lighting up. Just no sound at all.

If only a few tubes are lighting up, assuming that no other components are failing, this is probably your trouble. The only way you can get a radio to work properly is to have all of its tubes light up. That's an absolute must. Once you have replaced all dud tubes with known good ones, if it doesn't work, you have to check for shorted or leaky condensers, drifted resistors, and faulty coils and transformers. After that you have to look for wires that either broke from age or someone else tampered with.
