Emerson radio
12/13/2004 1:22:51 PMMike M.
I got an old Emerson 5 tube radio for next to nothing. There are no model numbers on the chassis or inside the bakelite case.

The tubes are 12SA7, 12K7GT, 12SQ7, 50L6GT and a 35Z5GT.

It appears to have a connection for an external antenna capacitively coupled to the internal antenna.

The only number were on the dial face which are 7BD88 and G1537. The dial has both frequency and meters with a pointer similar to a compass needle.

Can anyone help with a model number?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike

What makes you radio different is the 12K7. Most radios with that tube lineup use a 12SK7.

Check Emerson model #CV289, CV290 & CV291. They all have the 12K7 tube. Schematic are under resources here on nostalgiaair.

Norm,

Thanks for the direction. It looks like the CV280 is real close with the correct tube arrangement.

Thanks again,

Mike
