Identifying RCA radio
11/5/2004 4:40:36 PMAnton Cuschieri
I have just been given an RCA radio which was fitted in another cabinet. So no model number exists on the back panel, nor on the chassis. There is however a chassis number ..001791. It has a round dial marked in frequencies not in stations. The band selector reads C A X . There is a number on the dial top ..27403. There is a red ink stamp mark on the chassis with the number 5018, and the valve complement (if correct) is 6F6, 6L7, 6F5, 6H6, 6J7, 6K7, 6K7, 5Z3. No valve numbers are stamped on the valve holders. rather strange for an American radio.
Could anybody please identify this model? and tell me if the circuit diagram is on Nostalgia Air?

Hello Anton,

RCA model T8-16 or C8-17 match your description, and can be found on the Nostalgia Air Resource page.

I didn't notice Dave's earlier reply--Looks like T8-14 and T8-16 are similar 3-band radios with different frequency coverages.

I thank you and David.
I think that it is the T8-14.
I have downloaded the schematic, and tomorrow I will compare it with the radio.
Good Job guys!

I think it is the T8-14.
Thank you both for finding out so quickly what model it is.
I have downloaded the circuit and will compare it with the radio tomorrow
