I'll send you the schematic. The Zenith 6S152 and 6S157 use the same schematic. Look over the schematic and post your questions. Your Zenith should work well at least on broadcast band.

: I have a Zenith long distance model 6S157 (the label actually looks like it was originaly 6S152 but the 2 has a 7 written over it). It is in great shape but has no antenna, I have been using a 25' wire connected to the A terminal (there are 3 terminals on the back A Z and G with Z and G jumped together). It picks up several stations in the AM band but only the strongest ones. I can also pick up a few stations on the SW band but not too well. What should I do for a decent antenna? Also, I would like to get a set of schematics for it if possible. Thank you.

This is called a "gimic" cap and is usually pieces of insulated wire twisted together. It feeds a small amout of the oscillator signal to the mixer. The other end of the wire will not be connected.

: Thanks for the schematics. I have a question about the ganged tuning caps on the schematic. It shows a wire going from the ANT adjustable cap to the top of the 1st detector/osc tube and a wire going from the OSC adjustable cap to itersect with the previous wire? I can't really tell where it is going. So I looked on my set and found the OSC cap wire just hanging there, connected to nothing. Where is this supposed to go.

Next Question:
About the antenna terminals. It looks like the Z terminal is supposed to be connected to the G terminal. Isn't the Z terminal for another antenna? My Airline radio has a foil antenna for the SW band, a loop antenna for Standard Broadcast, and an exra terminal for a external antenna.
Thanks
Use the "A" terminal for antenna. The best antenna would high as possible and 50 feet or longer. You do not need this type of antenna to receive most signals. 20 feet of wire on the floor should be acceptable.

: Does it matter where the wire is going? should it be near the oscillator can?

: The Z terminal should be connected to ground. It's used when you have a balanced type antenna.

Mr.Leal,, I read a follow up on the silvertone model 4769, that you had posted, almost a year ago,, I have this model, but i have had trouble finding out much about it,, I do not think the radio works, but it does seem to have all the componets still intact,,,I do have a photo of it if you would be interested in viewing it,,,Thank you for your time,, nyle
