Where did the shortwave go
8/3/2004 9:02:22 PMJoe Brown
After cleaning the tower, I lost the short-wave on
my Transoceanic H500.
I used the proper contact cleaner and allowed
sufficient drying time.
Any ideas!!

Hi Joe

Allow more drying time. Sometimes it gets under trimmer caps and can take a couple days to completely dry.

Measure filament voltage on your 1L6. Below 1.4 volts may be too low? This is the oscillator tube and low filament voltage will cause it to stop on short wave first.

Also be sure that the cleaning fluid didn't carry any dirt or carbon into places.
