As a newbie in the world of tube electronics I thought I'd try and fix this old radio (along with an Addison and Delco auto) I recently inherited.

I am trying to locate the schematic (and any other info) relating to a:

Northern Electric Midge table top - 5 tuber.
model # 5708.

Seems the 5704 & 5808 may be the same chassis.

Some schematics are available by clicking on Resources, above. Most go to around early 1950's. Didn't find your model. Believe your's may be a newer Canadian radio? Listing tubes might help find a similar schematic.

Thanks for the reply, Norm.
Yup, I went through the list and as popular as the radio was it's not listed. And there are no chassis numbers on the unit. However, the tubes appear to read: 12av6, 12ba6,12be6,5oc5, 35w4, + can't determine the 6th.
I managed to properly id my radio on this site: http://www.northernelectric.ca/radios/ne5708/ne5708.htm
They suggest that others may share the same chassis ..but slightly different cosmetics.
My hunch is that this unit may be from the later '50's.
