If the tube gets hot in your battery eliminator, consider it good. You won't see a glow in this tube. It's inside the mushroom shaped part.
A BH is a gas rectifier, somewhat like 0Z4 but has a higher voltage drop. Internal drop is 90 volts @ 125 ma. Pin #1 and #4 are plates. Pin #2 is cathode.
You could try setting your tube tester for a 0Z4, using the above pins. Not all tube testers can supply enough voltage to test a BH.

:Hello, I have a majestic battery eliminator that has a bh tube in it, but my tube tester doesnt seem to have a listing for it....tripplett model 3413. When I plug the eliminator in, the tube gets hot shortly after, but it doesnt seem to glow.....did these things glow or not,,,.not sure

Do you have output voltage? Most of these battery eliminators have 3 outputs.
You will have filter caps in a battery eliminator. Not sure about Majestic but most have paper type caps rather than electrolytic. Several of mine have been ok without changing caps. If you have output voltage and caps don't heat you could leave them original.
If you do decide to change caps 10 mfd @ 450 volt will work. Circuits with BH tubes also have 2 extra caps, one from each plate. These caps will be around .1 - .5 mfd and should to be high voltage (1000)? Sparton used .1 mfd in their radios with a BH rectifier.

:Hello: I am not even remotely familiar with this eliminator, are they or do they have capacitors that need replacing before using it or can I just use it? I have only recapped and restored the radio chassis of my radios and am not sure whats even in this one. All I see is two big metal boxes inside. one must be a transformer, but not sure whats in the other one.
