Philco big block caps

Hello, I have been wondering if it is recommended to replace the caps in the multicap tar square rectangular metal cap case. Do these short out and go bad like the bakelite block caps or should I leave these alone and just recap the bakelite blocks?

Yes indeed Sean, the metal-can caps and also the potted tone controls (not on all models) also need re-building like the bakelite block caps.
