Try settings for 6SK7 or similar tubes. The 717A is made for higher frequencies but similar. This tube was surplus after WW2 and used by amateurs in radio receivers in place of 6SK7's.

:Greetings- I looked in all of my roll charts as well as the Obsolete Tube Type supplement and can't find the settings to test the 717a. Any ideas? your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul
Use the pin setting for 6SG7. This one has the same basing (8BK) . In most circuits the tubes are used with pin 3 and 5 tied together like is already in a 717A.

::Tried to test it with 6SK7 settings and get a "shorts" reading on positions 2,3,4,5. I looked again at the pinout of the 717A and it appears as though pin 3 is connected to the suppressor grid as well as the cathode. Pin 5 is connected to the cathode as well. Any other ideas or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help. Paul
