Howard AVH 1931

I have an old Howard AVH model I am replacing the caps on. One of the caps is made by Micamold and has a value of 1 Mfd @ 3000V. My question is if this 3000V value is really needed. Could I get by with using a 600V cap. Im suprised by the extremely high voltage rating here. Thanks.

Does it look like this capacitor is a replacement? Looking at the Howard AVH schematic, no capacitor needs a 3000 volt rating. Using 600 volt will be ok. Schematic can be found here:
