I have a Philco 37-610 table radio that has a similar dial to yours. The light in my radio is suspended directly behind the dial. The socket has a reflectorized shroud that looks like a miniature workbench light. The socket has a slide clip that attaches to a finger of sheet metal. It is accessed through the rear of the radio.

Elton,

The 38-7 model as the "Cone-Centric" tuning mechanism. The pilot lamp is acessable from the front. The dial bezel (and knobs, I believe...) and dial faceplate need to be removed to gain access. The lamp and its socket are inside the dial mechanism reflector shell.
