Hello to all and hope some of the brains out here can help me, Im restoring a Kennedy 42 Coronet and theres a large diameter Copper capacitor on top and Im trying to figure out what the value is so I can replace it, it only has 2 post so im guessing it's not a multi Value cap? any help will be greatlly appreciated!!

Hi Charles

You can find the schematic here:

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/554/M0039554.pdf

The caps are 6 & 16 mfd. The two posts are most likely each cap with copper case being negative? Use 10 mfd @ 450 volt & 22 mfd @ 450 volt caps for replacement. Replacements will be very small.

Thanks Norm!

Yes Ive printed the scematic but wasnt sure if I was reading it correctly, yes again your right the copper is soldered to the holding bracket then attached to the chasis. I also turned it upside down and found another cap 8MFD which I will replace as well so Im assuming I should go with a 12 on that one as well?
I have some pictures of my project if your interested? send your email and I can email them to you.
Thanks for your help!
