How do you fix "heater voltage hum"
3/1/2004 12:19:29 PMPaul Jebb
Hi,
Any suggestions on how to fix "heater voltage hum"?
I identified the hum on my radio thanks to "Bah humbugs" on this
site. Now I could use a little direction on how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul

Try to find why you have heater voltage hum? Does a tube have leakage between filament & cathode? Are filament wires running near signal lines? If the radio has a power transformer with 6 volt winding is center tap or one side connected to chassis?

Thanks Norm,
I'll check those out, starting with the grounding issue. I can see the ground wire
attaching to the perimeter of a tube base that looks a little iffy.
Regards
Paul
