Hi I just got an old Rca Victor It has the turntable and AM/FM/Short wave radio in one unit. Does anyone know anything about this unit? It's in a Cherry cabinet.

Hi Scott,
Your RCA is an excellent set, top of the line for model year 1946, a 12 tube AM/FM/SW receiver with an RCA RP176 record changer. There are two separate chasses: an 8-tube tuner/preamp chassis and a 4-tube power supply/audio output chassis. Maximum power output is 11 watts with two 6F6G output tubes and a 12-inch electrodynamic speaker. Total power consumption of the set is 170 watts. It uses a total of eight pilot lamps, so you should not have much trouble seeing it at night. Service information can be found here on NostalgiaAir: from the "Resources" section click on "R.C.A. Victor" then from the list of model numbers choose your model "612V3".

Poston,

Do you have any idea what these go for? My grandmaother has decided to sell hers and asked for my help. I have no clue. Do you have any suggestions.

Hi Josh

I haven't heard from Poston in 6 months..

Collectors Guide to Antique Radios, Vol #4, lists RCA 612V3 as being worth $60-$70. This can vary greatly depending on how much a person wants the radio.
