Old guitar amp

I am repairing a old guitar amp, it is a Custom Kraft Tremolo Deluxe, it only has 1 output tube a 50l6 and a 12au6 pre amp, has 2 other tubes a 35z5 for retifier and a 12av6 for the tremolo efect. how much amplification should I expect out of this set up? I put in all new capacitors in it and now it plays nice and clean with no hum, but it seems as it is not that loud. Am I expecting too much out of it?

With a 50L6 and the low DC B+ from the AC line supply.. as compared to a 6V6 and 100s of volts B+ you might well compare it to a table radios volume outputwith the slight variance that might be acquired from the use of its larger and/or more efficient speaker that it might use as well as the acoustical advantage derived from its baffling enclosure,IF there is any used. You typically might expect just moderate strumming levels.

Ralph,

At typical line voltages the RCA Manual sez you can get 2.1 W out of a 50L6. Of more importance is the connection of one side of the power line to this units chassis. You really need an isolation transformer to safely operate the amp.
