GE Model F-81

I just was given this model tombstone from the 30's as a challenge to restore. After replacing a bad audio tube, the radio had volume, but no audible stations. I replaced most of the caps, but may have replaced a few caps with the incorrect microfarads or voltage perhaps too low. Now the radio has much lower volume but a strong broadcast station can be heard thru the speaker. Any ideas where I might have lost voltage? Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave

Compare your radio to the schematic.

Unless off by a large amount capacity values usually aren't that critical. Replacement cap voltage should be the same or higher than originals.

Be sure the radio has an antenna.

Measure plate voltages on your tubes.
