I have a big problem whit a De Forest-Crosley phono-radio canadian model: 740.

My "hazeltine" receiver type 740 do not work.
The transfo is burn..(all the pitch leak out..)
all the input wire on the transfo are burn and the output wire are O.K.
It push 80 volt on all the lamp circuit and on the body case to..(ground)
The wires are praticaly all mixed up or not hook up between the phono and allt the other switches and pot.
where can i find info on how to rebuilt the transfo or where i can buy a new one??

I 'd like to see complete guide of this 740 model..
to help me understand how it suppose to work...

Thank

I can email a schematic to you if you send your email address. It will help you get started. Your radio is a 1930-31 model and worth restoring.

i hope it worth all the work it will involve...
all the magnet-wires are rusty and broked by them self..
I need to repair the winding in the phono needle arm.
Do you know how much resistance i need to create with the magnet wire??
i need approx. 250 turn of 26 gauge wire on a pencil to create the same kind of winding but will the magnet field be O.K.??

A schematic has been emailed. There is very little data available on this radio.

I am not experienced in winding coils for phono pickups, perhaps someone else in this forum can comment.
