I have a nice Westinghouse RC set comprised of the RA and DA in one box. The hinges on my set are interior to the edges of the door showing only the hinge pins from the outside. I have seen other RC sets with external hinges, both rectangular as well as curved style. Does any one know which was the earlier or first type of hinge used?

I am guessing that the external hinges are earlier. I have collected pictures of several that have sold on Ebay recently. Some had manufacturing dates stamped inside. Seems like the earlier ones had the external hinges. Also, the DA's I have seen seem to have external hinges. I assume most DA's were earlier than most RC's?? Steve
