David Bogen Model 501

Hi, I just found this website while googling. I have a David Bogen Model 501 radio that my grandfather gave me in pretty rough condition. It needs two knobs (power and tuning), a bottom cover, a tuning indicator (the plastic strip across the front), possibly a new preamp to converter interstage transformer (aircore - broken primary winding), some new cornell-dubilier paper caps (or suitable small caps I can put inside the old casings) and some new electrolytic caps. I can't find an original manual or reference anywhere - I don't even know if it's AM only or AM/FM. Does anyone have any idea where I can find one, or any info at all?

Hi Ken,
In 1947 David Bogen made a model R501. This was an AM-only tuner, no amp. It used two knobs (on/off and tuning) and a horizontal slide-rule dial scale. Tube lineup was 6SK7 RF amp, 6SA7 converter, 6SK7 IF amp, 6H6 detector, 6U5 tuning "eye", and 6X5GT rectifier. Could be this is your set?
