"B" Battery
1/11/2004 1:31:23 AMSteve
I was wondering when they began scaling back "B" plate voltage
battery production and approxamately when the last ones
were produced before discontinuing.

Does anyone know/have a surviving B battery in their collecton?
I have heard these had multiple voltage taps.

Today I just clip 9 volt batteries in series.

Hi Steve

High Voltage B batteries were used with tube circuits. Transistor circuits of today don't need as high of voltage.

You can still buy B batteries from AES, www.tubesandmore.com . They are expensive, $20.00 - $30.00 range.

Using 9 volt batteries in series, like you are doing, is the best way to go.
