Hi Jay

You can find 01A's on eBay. Radio swap meets usually have better prices but they don't always show up.

Number 30 tubes can be used if a radio has standard type tube sockets. Just reduce filament to 2 volts.

Norm, Thank you for the tip. The sockets on this radio are a type I am not familiar with. Each one consists of four horizontal fingers spaced 90 degrees in a radial pattern, surrounded by a ring with a bayonet mount. Do you know what such a socket is called? Jay

Hi Jay

You have the old type sockets. They require tubes with a bayonet pin on the side. You do need 01A's for these sockets. There are a few older tubes that will also work such as 112A. Check eBay for numbers like 201A & 301A. These are the same tubes with RCA and Cunningham markings.

Norm, how did you learn about so many tube equivalents? It is rather impressive. Jay
