Sparton Chassis 8L9 Schematic SAMS 57-19

I need a schematic with values and voltages for Sparton 8L9 chassis. You may also save me from doing work on this set or sending the schematic if you think the following is big problem.

The set has a few burnt resistors and other items appear overheated. Only tubes that checked good are the 5Y3, 6V6, and a 6BA6. So I took the 5Y3 out and measured the power transformer voltages. At 120 VAC the filament voltage for the 5Y3 only gets to 4.8 volts. I believe that's a first for me that I can recall. Generally on other transformers at 120 I get around 5.5 or bad. Other voltages seem ok. You think my transformer will supply enough voltage for the rectifier filament? Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill

Schematic sent from Rider Vol #20. Your transformer will be ok as long as it doesn't overheat. Shorted windings can cause low voltage but this will also cause excessive heating.

Try the radio with the tubes you have. Even though weak on a tester that can be ok in a radio. Be sure to replace electrolytic filter caps. If shorted they will damage the rectifier & power transformer.

Thanks very much Norm for the schematic and advice. One time I was playing an old radio and it begin to make the strangest sound and smoke. I pulled the plug and later on checking it the transformer had leaked shellac. Even the laminates appeared to have shifted. No good anymore. A new cap had shorted.
