spare part for Philips radio
10/24/2003 2:34:09 PMAnton
Does anybody out there have a tuning capacitor for a Philips radio model BX 462 A, complete with drive wheel and cables?
Alternatively I would consider a complete chassis with or without valves.

Is this such a rare radio, nobody knows where I can get parts for it?
Aye guys, any bright suggestions?

Anton

Hi Anton

You can buy electrical parts from AES, tubesandmore.com and others. Philips radios were made in Europe. Most of us are in the US. You might try asking for a chassis at:

Hello Anton

I see in the documents, that this is a three section tuning capacitor 3 x 10 - 490 pF.

I shurely don't have one with drive wheel and cable, but maybe the matching tuning cap.

Can you please give me the correct dimensions / pictures of what you need?

Kind regards, Walter Haring, Switzerland

Hi Walter,
Thanks for answering my plea.
The problem is that this item is missing on my radio, and so I have no information about it. I cannot tell you what it looks like either.
If I had the circuit diagram (which I also need, I would be able to confirm what you are telling me, but I don't have that either at present.
All I have is the type number of the radio a BX 462A Philips. I bought the radio as it is, and discovered with horror the missing component.
Regards

Anton
