Can I date a GE TV by its model number? Is there a site to check this info? - I have not been able to locate one. GE model C21C9 - donor says it's early 50s.
Thanks

Cathy: Probably the easiest way to date it would be to look up the C21C9 in the Howard W. Sams service data index. This would yield a "folder" number in which the service data for this set is located. Then, look in the same Sams service data reference and determine when that folder number was printed. This will not tell you the exact month and day but will yield an answer as to the exact year.

Cathy I tried to Find this General Electric Television in the Sam's Index last night, but there was no listing in my old or new indexes. Please double check that model again. A general description of this set would also help. Is it color TV, does it have a phono graph, does the picture sceen have rounded sides (half moons) , what is the range of the TV channels ? If worse comes to worse ,remove the Back of the set and get the Numebers off the chassis if possible. ed
